In June of 2013, an intergenerational team of ten learners from College Avenue will travel to Memphis, Tennessee to begin a week-long exploration of racial and economic privilege through Alabama and ending in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Team includes Rob Brittain, Nicole Cardoso, Theresa Holcomb, Cristina Lee, Rebecca Lee, Pat Roberts, Brendan Russell, Sandy Sample, Pastor Michael Schiefelbein, and Ken Schroeder.
This quote speaks of our combined philosophy on service and mission work:
“If you have come here to help us, you are wasting our time. But if you have come because your fate is bound up with ours, then let us work together.” –Aboriginal Activists Group; Queensland, Australia
