Sunday Potluck

We will celebrate the gifts of our people on Sunday, July 28.

We had a wonderful response to our questionnaire about what we like to do–what our gifts are.  We will celebrate those who filled out a form and those who are currently faithfully minister to our congregation and community.

Please plan to join us.  Bring a dish–anything–that we can share.  We have two persons who have volunteered to clean up, and this is a great opportunity for those who said they would love to help,  to sign up for helping set up and serve.

If you are one of those people, please contact Charlotte Pizzo.

Color Camp: A One-day Retreat/Workshop

Color Camp: A One-day Retreat with Christine Barnes (workshop) brought to you by the CACC quilting group

Do you wish you had a better “color sense”? Do you stress when it’s time to choose colors and fabrics for a new quilt? You need to go on retreat to gain a new perspective.  You need to come to Color Camp!

This no-sew workshop consists of cut-and-paste color studies, with lots of help from the teacher and group critique of every block. The first three mock-block exercises focus on value (light and dark), temperature (warm and cool), and intensity (bright and dull).  These characteristics, more than color itself, determine the impact of a quilt. An
overview of the color wheel and a final exercise expose students to this invaluable (and amazing) tool for quilters. It’s lots of creative fun, and you’ll leave “Color Camp” with new ideas for working with color.

When: Saturday July 13 2013, 10 am to 5 pm
Where: College Ave Congregational Church Fellowship Hall
1341 College Ave. Modesto
Cost: $60.00 plus a $3.00 material fee….please make check out to and mail to: Cheri Barnes, 606 Hartley Dr, Modesto 95356

Contact person: Cheri Barnes 209-765-1448, barnes6@sbcglobal.net

At the midpoint of the day, Christine presents a mini trunk show of garments and quilts that show how she applies color basics to her work. She will also bring some of her new works.
