Epiphany Celebration! – Thursday, Jan. 6

Epiphany (also known as Twelfth Night, Three Kings Day, or the Twelfth Day of Christmas) has long been celebrated as the end of the Christmas season.

At College Avenue, we celebrate by gathering in the Fellowship Hall to share a simple soup supper, to enjoy the scent of frankincense and myrrh, and to gather round a bonfire to sing carols for the last time, burning the last of our Christmas greens.  We also await the arrival of our Three Kings.  After the Kings have paraded around the fire, we return to Fellowship Hall to share Doris Scanlon’s Epiphany bread–those who find the three dimes hidden in the bread will be the Three Kings for the next year.

Please bring soup or bread to share (no salad or desserts, please), live greens from your holiday decorations, and a willingness to bid farewell to the Christmas season.

Epiphany Celebration: Thursday, January 6, 5:30 p.m., College Avenue.
