Ever think of how much of your day is spent judging? With thoughts like these: “I guess I got in the wrong check-out line!” and “Come on, the light’s not going to get any greener!” and “Who does he think he is?”
All of these judgments are ways of disconnecting ourselves from others—from the people in the wrong check-out line, from the driver in front of us, from the man we think is too full of himself.
But we can only experience fulfillment by connecting to others. When we do, we also connect to God and to our true selves. Maybe that’s why over and over and over Jesus said, “Do not judge!”
Pay attention to your judgments today and see what happens.
